When the two of the masterchef finalists visited an event run by Swansea Market I was commissioned to cover the event. It was quite a whirlwind of an event where they went into the market and chose some fresh produce and then went on to cook out in the streets of Swansea in front of a quickly gathering large crowd. After the event I quickly managed to grab one of the guys to take a portrait. Earlier on in the day I had scouted around the area and found a dingy alley way between a couple of buildings but it had a really lovely wall which was covered in these tiny black tiles with a white grout. This wall gave a lovely backdrop when thrown out of focus. Combined with the fact that as it was a narrowish alley so there was no direct sun. The light was bouncing off the wall behind me acting like a gigantic soft box, producing a lovely soft light for the portrait.
